PROVIDING ATLANTA WITH QUALITY PIANO SERVICE FOR OVER 50 YEARS
For over thirty years, I have had the privilege of knowing James Pope, not only as a colleague serving as piano technician at Jacksonville State University (Alabama), but also as "my tuner" for grand pianos and uprights in my own home. Since I have retired from JSU, I continue to rely on Mr. Pope for his expertise, competent advice, and professionalism as he has tuned, repaired, rebuilt, and maintained various pianos in my home and current studio. I recommend him highly to my students as well as to the community, area churches, and actually to anyone who is in need of his professional services.

James Pope has been working on my two pianos for many years and has done some extensive renovations to them. He seems to be able to do anything. I have always found his work to be of the highest quality, and it is quite evident that he has vast knowledge and a great love of the piano.
Mr. James Pope has been our piano technician, at Parker Memorial Baptist Church, for the last 15+ years. He has done a fine job of keeping our pianos in good working order and in tune. He is prompt, knowledgeable, and a pleasant person with whom to work. I recommend him highly, to anyone needing a quality piano technician.

I am a piano teacher. I have used and recommended James Pope without reservation to all of my students since I met him in 1992. In fact, I have never recommended anyone else. I have not heard the first complaint about his work. On the contrary, all of my students and/or their parents have always been very pleased.
James has maintained my grand piano for the past 15 years. It needed substantial work when I bought it and he brought it back to life. It has been used up to thirty hours a week for many years and he has kept it in shape by replacing felts, hammers, and doing all other repairs andtunings in between. He is very reasonable and I have always been pleased and convinced that I could not have found a better craftsman. James was referred to me by a professional pianist who had him work on his $72,000 Steinway.
A word to the wise, James is a man of few words. Some of my referrals have expressed confusion about his lack of talkativeness; however, this is his way. Some people have even imagined that James did not like them because of his quietness. I explain to them that he hardly says a word when he's at my house and he adores me. So if you want your piano repaired or rebuilt and always sounding its best, call James. If you want someone to chat it up with you, he's not your guy.
He will always be my piano guy as long as I have a piano. I recommend him without reservation. Enjoy your Piano!

James Pope has taken care of my piano at home for several years. He has also tuned for my place of business (The Jewish Tower) in Atlanta. I have always found him to be very professional and extremely competent. He is reliable--always arriving as scheduled and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him.
